During March 13th through 19th, we are celebrating National Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Week. Working throughout eleven counties in southern Iowa, the Child and Adult Care Food Program at Sieda works to combat hunger and bring healthy foods to children in child care homes, centers, and in after-school and summer feeding programs. The program has instilled a positive, curious attitude about a wide variety of foods choices from an early age.
Currently, the national program is helping provide healthy meals to 3.5 million children across the country.
If you are a child care provider, contact your local CACFP program to find out how to keep your food expenses down while serving healthy, well-balanced meals to the children in your care. Parents can also access a list of child care provider participating in the program to help their children be healthier and happier.
