On Saturday, October 22nd, six members of the Head Start Policy Council, along with Head Start staff members Nicole Ford and Jamie Sparks, attended the annual Parent Leadership Conference in Des Moines. Head Start parents who attended were: Kelsey Luko, Ronda Terpstra, Bruce Clinkenbeard, Lesa Koellner, Heidi Saner, and Erin Saner.

The conference, hosted by the Iowa Head Start Association, aims to train and educate parents to benefit their children, family, and leadership.  Topics included Leadership Roles, a Colors Personality activity, and Child Advocacy information. Iowa AEYC Play Experience trainers also educated parents on the importance of play for School Readiness and Child Development.
