Sieda Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is celebrating National CACFP Week from March 12-18. The Sieda CACFP program currently serves eighty-five childcare providers in our service region in addition to seven Head Start locations.
The purpose of CACFP is to provide caregivers of children and adults with nutritional education to assure that meals and snacks are nourishing for their children. The caregivers also plan activities that help prepare young children to make healthy food choices for the rest of their lives.
When children receive a nutritious diet, as CACFP standards direct, they are more likely to develop at a normal physical, emotional, and intellectual pace. Sieda CACFP ensures that child and adult care providers are able to create an atmosphere that instills a positive, curious attitude about food from the earliest years.
Throughout National CACFP Week, we would like to take the opportunity to celebrate the outcomes of our program by showing the activities of our childcare providers, the benefits of childhood nutrition, and the ways CACFP serves the children in the area.
Join us in celebrating National CACFP Week and learn how childcare providers are helping children grow healthy, strong, and smart!
