At the beginning of May, several staff members from our home visitation service programs attended the Child Abuse Prevention Conference in Des Moines. The nationally recognized conference gathers hundreds of professionals to focus on increasing well-being for our families in Iowa.
Members from our MIECHV, Parents as Teachers, and Family Development and Support Services went to breakout sessions that ranged from helping your baby develop to information on the issue of human trafficking. On Monday evening, the conference held a recognition event for the recipients of the Family Support Participant of the Year and the Family Support Professional of the Year.
A family that participated in the Sieda FaDSS program was nominated for the Participant of the Year. Our nominated participant, Violet, is an inspiring mother who constantly strives and attains the goals that she sets before herself to create a positive future for her children.
Our Family Support Service staff attend annual events, such as the Child Abuse Prevention Conference, to ensure that our clients are getting the best possible information and guidance as they move toward self-sufficiency and parental involvement.
