Sieda Head Start was recently recognized by the State of Iowa Department of Education at the Learning Supports Conference for implementing positive teaching strategies in the classroom for over ten years.
At the conference in Des Moines, the Iowa Department of Education recognized Sieda Head Start for implementing Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with fidelity for ten years. The honor came at a conference member of our Head Start were attending. Later, Sieda Head Start presented on how they were able to get our staff to properly implement PBIS, professional development, and our family engagement.
Our Sieda Head Start has implemented PBIS to ensure our classrooms run smoothly, with increased instruction time and improved student social behavior, interactions, and performance at school. We make sure that our programs function at a high-level of fidelity to help serve our communities in the best possible manner.
We are proud of our Head Start program and Head Start staff for achieving this distinction.
