Wapello and Van Buren counties will be having Preschool Registration events for their districts. You can come and register in person at the events listed below. Head Start children attend preschool classes four days a week.  Meals and snacks are served.  In addition to the classroom activities, children and their parents take part in field trips to expose them to educational and cultural activities in their communities.

Sieda Head Start in Wapello County is partnered with Cardinal and Ottumwa Community School Districts to provide no-cost preschool for 3 and 4-year-old children. In Van Buren County our Sieda Head Start is partnered with Van Buren (Douds) and Harmony Community School Districts to provide no-cost preschool for 3-year-old children. There is limited room at some of the preschools.

If you can’t come to the registrations you can still apply. Applications for Sieda Head Start are taken throughout the year, please call Sara at (641) 682-8741 ext. 164 for more information.

• Child’s birth certificate, passport or Title 19 card to verify birth

• Social security numbers for all household members

• 2017 tax returns (we realize you may not have your tax return
completed by March 6th but we will need this information to
complete the application process)
