To encourage and strengthen the importance of good attendance the “Ship Shape Attendance Rate” award was created by Head Start Coordinator Sara Whitlow. The ten Sieda Head Starts in our seven county service area are all involved in the attendance rate campaign.

Attending class is the pirate’s way,
Sailing to school each and every day.
Filling fun and knowledge in our treasure chest,
X marks the spot, we are the best!

The classroom with the highest attendance rate for the month of January was at the Cardinal Head Start. Teacher Sandra Pope and Assistant Teacher Theresa Morgan had a 93% rate that put them at the top for January. The class received their special certificate, pirate finger puppets, Pete the Cat Book, and items for dramatic play. The kids took quickly to dressing up with their new class items pirate eye patches, telescope, and hats.

Congratulations from all of us! Keep up the great attendance records!
