Sieda Community Action would like to congratulate four of our Family Support Service employees. All four passed the National Certification Exam for Family Support Professionals and received their certificates. Two certified participants from Parents as Teachers (PAT), Lynn Godwin and Noreen Maxwell. The other two certified participants are from Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV) Sue Wolver and Robin Simmons.
As part of that process, they all participated in an exam to test their knowledge in the competency areas that had been proposed. They had to have cut score above 80% to receive the National Family Support Professional Certification. Thanks to the efforts of these four Sieda Community Action employee’s and others who participated, the National Core Competencies for Home Visitors has been finalized by the Institute for the Advancement of Family Support Professionals (the Institute), including representatives from the Iowa Department of Public Health, Virginia Department of Health, Early Impact Virginia, James Madison University’s Health Education Design Group, and the University of Kansas’ Center for Public Partnerships and Research.
The work of the Institute for the Advancement of Family Support Professionals is endorsed by an Expert Panel of members from the Association of State and Tribal Home Visiting Initiatives (ASTHVI). The ASTHVI Expert Panel is a steering committee of subject-matter experts in the field of home visiting and family support for the Institute.
We are very proud of these four Sieda employees. Congratulations on your achievement!
