Sieda Parent as Teachers (PAT) in Mahaska County had the “Pint Size Picasso” to celebrate “The Week of the Young Child.” Toddler and preschool student artwork was brought to school to be displayed. Parents as Teachers Educator Noreen displayed the young children’s artwork on the Oskaloosa Square and in the Penn Central Mall. Families were invited to Webster school to the “Pint Size Picasso” celebration to pick-up the children’s artwork and enjoy a light healthy snack.

Sieda Parents as Teachers (PAT) goal for this event was to show the community how creative the children in the area truly are by sharing their art around town. It is important for children to develop creativity, social skills and fine motor skills with open-ended art projects where they can make choices, use their imaginations, and create with their hands.

Parents as Teachers and Sieda is thankful for the businesses that gave their support to the young children in the community. Thank you for displaying the children’s artwork.
