Sieda Community Action would like to congratulate Angela Mach on receiving the credential of Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). Angie is a Sieda Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV) Worker for Wapello County. She has successfully passed both the didactic and practical sections of the Certified Lactation Counselor Examination. There are currently over 20,000 CLCs in the US.
Angie’s CLC credential signifies the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to support breastfeeding/lactation. As a CLC she can provide breastfeeding counseling and management support to families who are thinking about breastfeeding or who have questions or problems during the course of breastfeeding/lactation.
“As a mom that nursed my own child, I feel that anyone that wants to nurse their baby should be supported and have access to help if issues in their nursing journey arise,” Angie commented. As a new CLC, Angie will work to promote, protect, support breastfeeding and human lactation, as well as help, solve problems.
She is currently working with the local Nursing Mothers’ Support Group in planning the 5th Annual Breastfeeding Event. It will be August 4th! If you have any questions for Angie, please call (641) 682-8741 extension 168.
We are very proud of Angie. Great job!
