G… G… what begins with G…
We kick off the new school year with Grandparents Day at the Sieda Appanoose Head Start. Head Start teachers invited grandpas, grandmas, and other guests to come to enjoy a day of celebration. It is important to Sieda Head Starts to not just have classroom activities, but have events or field trips that the children and their family members can take part.
G… G… what begins with G… grandma, grandpa, grapes, and graham crackers. The grandparents and guest were able to enjoy snacks of grapes and graham crackers in a fun combination, all thanks to our Sieda CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) helping with healthy foods. The children were able to entertain with some great songs, Baby Shark, Herman the Worm, and a special song. They all had a chance to make a picture craft with the children, involving paint, decorations, heartfelt message, and they even practicing writing their names.
A Grandparent’s Hand
The promise for tomorrow
The hope of dreams come true…
A reminder of a childhood
That is still a part of you…
The wonder of a miracle
From which this love began…
There is so much found in the touch
of a grandchild’s hand.
This is the hand you used to hold
When I was 4 years old.
It was a great day of spending time with grandparents and guest that was brought to an end with the story “What Grandmas/Grandpas Do Best.”
Thanks to everyone that came and enjoyed the day with the children.
