LIHEAP (energy assistance) applications for households with at least one member who is elderly (60+) or disabled will begin on Monday, October 1st at Sieda Community Action. Please visit or call your local Sieda office for more information. Applications for all other households begin November 1.

The 2018-2019 LIHEAP has been established to help qualified low-income Iowa homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. The assistance is based on household income, household size, type of fuel, and type of housing.

Wither your household applies online or in person, you will need verification of gross household income for the past 30 days or 2017 Federal Taxes, recent gas and electric bills, and verification of Social Security numbers for all household members.

Our Sieda Resource Centers in Appanoose, Jefferson, Mahaska, and Wapello County will be open from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
