November in Head Start

November was full of Thanksgiving activities and family fun in our Sieda’s Head Start Centers. A few of our Sieda Head Start classes and partnership classes sent in pictures to show a peek into the activities they enjoyed.

Cardinal School District and Sieda Head Start

Cardinal School District and Sieda Head Start are just one of the partnerships in our Sieda area. With this partnership, the benefits of Head Start can reach more children not just the low-income qualified. Mrs. Elliot’s preschool class of four-year-olds at Cardinal made tree houses.

Pickwick Early Childhood Center (PECC) and Sieda Head Start

PECC is a second school district partnership we have in Wapello County.

The second group of pictures is from a Pickwick (PECC) class. Mrs. Moore’s class invited family to come to their Thanksgiving / Fall Party. The class made a stew that all of them and their guest could enjoy.

They have some exciting new features at PECC. With the new building, they included a learning kitchen.

This third group of pictures shows Mrs. Evan’s four-year-olds preschool class sitting in the learning kitchen making upside down pumpkin pie.

Head Start program does not just focus on the educational needs of the children but also their health and nutrition with the help of Sieda CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program). They also strongly support activities that the children can take part in with their family.

Applications for Sieda Head Start are taken throughout the year. Contact 1-800-622-8340 to see if we have openings at one of our centers.
