Sieda Behavioral Health and Treatment Services (BHTS) every week holds a Family Group for anyone being affected by another person’s substance use. When a family member has a substance use disorder this can upset the family balance. For instance, it can challenge family rules or strain family relationships. Consequently increasing tension and building pressure amongst family members. Along with many other physical symptoms, loved ones might experience feelings of:

Depression
Grief
Blame
Shame
Anxiety
Guilt

BHTS offers a Family Group at no charge. The groups are every Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at 310 West Main Street in Ottumwa. The group is to educate and assist anyone affected by another person’s substance use. This group is open to the public. You do not need to have anyone in substance abuse treatment to attend this group.
