Many excellent events and fairs happened this spring across our counties. Sieda’s Family Support Programs were not just involved with community events but had a few of their own group connections. Sieda’s Parents as Teachers (PAT), Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV), and Family Development and Self Sufficiency (FaDSS) worked together to host creative, interactive, educational, and family bonding experiences. Thank you for sharing.
In addition, many of the program’s staff were involved with a variety of different family-friendly events in the community. It is amazing to have so many family-focused events and community partners. Moreover, these events allow children and parents to learn, develop, and explore. Check out what Sieda’s Family Support Programs have been doing in the community. Click Here
Colors, Counting, and ABC’s Group
Sieda Parents as Teachers (PAT) with the support of Sieda MIECHV and Sieda FaDSS hosted an evening of storytelling plus educational activities for parents to do with their little ones. The children loved hearing the two guest storytellers read. During, they all tried out a variety of activities set up that involved colors, counting, and ABC’s. It was a great time.
Messy Group Connection
Sieda Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV) hosted an evening of playing, squishing, and exploring. The event had 5 different fun and messy sensory activities for parents to do with their little ones. To sum up, it was the perfect time to let children explore and parents didn’t have to worry about the mess.
Sensory Play Group Connection
Sieda Parents as Teachers (PAT) hosted a playgroup with the support of Sieda FaDSS. The group had special guests, Annette from the Wapello County Conservation Pioneer Ridge Nature Area. She brought a variety of critters for the children and parents to hold or touch, and many different furs to feel. Above all, the event’s focus were the senses; taste, touch, sound, smell, and sight. Each station had its own sense activities for families to explore together. At the tasting table, they had different cups with a variety of flavors. Similarly, the sound table had a record play and the smelling table had wonderful scents.
