Angie is with Sieda’s Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV) program. Last summer, she passed testing to become a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). Currently, there are just over 20,000 CLCs in the US. Angie’s CLC credentials allow her to provide breastfeeding counseling and management support to families interested in breastfeeding.
Angie attended the Breastfeeding Conference on May 15th & 16th. To maintain her Lactation Counselor Certificate, she must have 18 hours of continuing education over 3 years As a CLC, Angie can assist those in the MIECHV Program as well as community members with their lactation concerns and help to problem solve so that the mother and baby can have a happy and successful breastfeeding relationship.
Angie co-facilitates a monthly support group meeting at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. The group meets on the third Tuesday each month from 6:15 pm – 7 pm.
Give Angie a call if you are thinking about breastfeeding or have questions or concerns during the course of breastfeeding/lactation. She is available during regular office hours to make an appointment. Give her a call at (641) 682-8741 extension 168.
