LIHEAP (heating assistance) applications for households with at least one person that is elderly (60+) or disabled will begin Tuesday, October 1st. Please visit or call your local Sieda Community Action office for more information. Applications for all other households starts November 1st.
The 2019-2020 LIHEAP has been established to help qualified low-income Iowa homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. The assistance is based on household income, household size, type of fuel, and type of housing.

Whether your household applies online or in person, you will need verification of gross household income for everyone over 18-years-old for the past 30 days or 2018 Federal Taxes. As well as, the home’s most recent gas and electric bill. We will also need to verify Social Security numbers for all household members.
You can apply online or call and visit our nearest Sieda Neighborhood Resource Centers. Sieda has locations in seven counties; Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Mahaska, Van Buren, and Wapello.
