Sieda Behavioral Health and Treatment Services (BHTS) seek to educate on the dangers of tobacco through Tobacco Prevention Specialist, Lisa M. Her mission is to provide education and programming across our counties that address the dangers of tobacco, smokeless tobacco, and vaping.

Lisa had the opportunity to provide school presentations for youth in Davis County. Thanks to a great High School principal in Bloomfield and other school staff members. In January 2020, she spent two days providing students at the Bloomfield High School tobacco/vaping presentations. Likewise, she shared information on Quitline Iowa and there new texting program for teens (My Life, My Quit).

Furthermore, it gave the students the chance to ask questions. The interaction with students was good. The students had several vaping inquiries. As well as wanting to know more information on the new 21 age to purchase law that recently went into effect. This was the first time Tobacco Prevention staff has presented to the high school students in Bloomfield. They are great kids!

If you are interested in her coming and talking to your group or at an event, please call 641-683-6747 x114. Or contact Quitline Iowa directly at 1-800-QUIT-NOW for help quitting. Sieda BHTS Tobacco Prevention aims to decrease underage tobacco use and help current smokers access resources that will help them stop smoking.
