Please join us in congratulating Angela Mach, De Brooke, and Lisa Tennis of Sieda’s Family Support Services on their National Family Support Certification! Angie Mach is with the Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV) program here at Sieda. De Brooke and Lisa Tennis are Parents as Teachers (PAT) Workers with Sieda. Their achievement is a testament to their hard work and professionalism.

Jennifer Huber, Director of Family Support Services with Sieda explains,

“The Institute for the Advancement of Family Support Professionals (IAFSP) identifies 10 domains of competency of Family Support Workers in-home visitation programs. We are very proud of De, Angie, and Lisa for taking and passing this exam!”

Furthermore, the national exam our staff took is based on the National Family Support Competency Framework (NFSCF). The framework for the exam is organized and identified by the IAFSP. Moreover, they define the expectations and standards in the field of Family Support direct service. Family Support Professionals may have job titles such as home visitors, parent educators, family support workers, and many more.

The NFSCF for Direct Service Professionals is organized around ten domains:
  • Domain 1: Infant and Early Childhood Development
  • Domain 2: Child Health, Safety, and Nutrition
  • Domain 3: Parent-Child Interactions
  • Domain 4: Dynamics of Family Relationships
  • Domain 5: Family Health, Safety, and Nutrition
  • Domain 6: Community Resources and Support
  • Domain 7: Relationship-Based Family Partnerships
  • Domain 8: Cultural and Linguistic Responsiveness
  • Domain 9: Effective Home Visits
  • Domain 10: Professional Practice

Angie, De, and Lisa work primarily with families with children prenatal through kindergarten entry. As home visitors and parent educators, their focus is on producing positive outcomes for children and families. Jennifer concludes,

They have demonstrated their knowledge and application of the standards on which we base our work. The competency and effectiveness of our Family Support Staff translate into success for the families we serve at Sieda. Congratulations to these 3 staff. We are very proud of their accomplishment!

Applause for Angie, De, and Lisa for their achieving this milestone!
