The Iowa Department of Human Rights/Division of Community Action Agencies (DCAA) has announced the publication of the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) State Plan.
The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program has been established to provide assistance to qualifying low-income customers in Iowa by paying arrearages to drinking water/wastewater utilities in order to reconnect and/or ensure uninterrupted water service. The Iowa Department of Human Rights, Division of Community Action Agencies (DCAA) administers Iowa’s LIHWAP program and is authorized by Iowa law to contract and distribute Iowa’s LIHWAP program funds to Iowa’s community action agencies.
Iowans are invited to review the plan in its entirety and provide comments prior to the final submission. Copies will be available for public viewing at all Iowa Community Action Agencies, Iowa Department of Human Services’ offices, Iowa Area Agencies on Aging, Iowa Community Action Association, and on the
DCAA website https://humanrights.iowa.gov/dcaa/liheap.
