Please join us in congratulating Julietta Coronel on her National Family Support Certification! Julietta is with the Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV): A Healthy Families Affiliate program here at Sieda. Her achievement is a testament to her hard work and professionalism.
The National Certification Exam is required for all home visitors at Sieda. It must be taken and passed within the first year of hire, and testers are only given 2 chances to pass it. If the tester fails the first attempt, the tester must wait 6 months to retest. The exam is designed by The Institute for the Advancement of Family Support Professionals. It is a rigorous 3 hour proctored test covering the 10 domains of competency of Family Support Workers in-home visitation programs.
Jennifer Fleener, Sieda’s Director of Family Support Services, explains,
“Julie has worked hard and studied for this test for about 5 months. She attended study groups virtually and had a tutor/mentor to assist her in preparing. Julie passed on her first try and has demonstrated her knowledge and application of the standards on which we base our work.”
The competency and effectiveness of our Family Support Staff translate into success for the families we serve at Sieda. Congratulations to Julie, this is a huge accomplishment, and we are so proud of her dedication to achieving this milestone!
