Synthetic Nicotine Products Now Regulated by FDA - CStore DecisionsThanks to Congress the FDA now has the authority to regulate products made with synthetic nicotine as tobacco products and President Biden signed the bill into law. This is an important step in keeping our youth safe as it closes a loophole in federal law.

Specifically, E-cigarette companies have been exploiting this to escape regulation and continue selling flavored e-cigarettes that attract and addict kids such as (Puff Bars) which is now the most popular e-cigarette brand among kids and comes in various flavors. Youth e-cigarette use remains a serious public health problem in the United States, with over 2 million middle and high school students using e-cigarettes in 2021.

The FDA will provide additional information about the implementation of this new law and the PMTA process for these types of products in the near future. Press Release
