Starting the week of October 10th, Sieda County Resource Centers will be giving food bags to qualified homes. Sieda purchased a variety of pantry foods such as soup, green beans, beans, corn, tuna, peanut butter, apple sauce, peas, and more. All of our centers in Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Mahaska, Van Buren, and Wapello County will be handing out bags during their regular hours. The first day will be the 11th for Van Buren County.

Sieda staff, volunteers, and staff from Hy-Vee South in Ottumwa helped pack the food bags. Hy-Vee South in Ottumwa staff and department heads volunteered 2 hours to help pack over 570+ bags. Thank you, everyone, for your time and energy. With a total of 773 food bags to distribute to homes.

The bags will be for income-qualified homesA home can get one (1) bag. If you were approved for last year’s LIHEAP program, you qualify. If you have not been income verified with us, we will need income documentation.
