NOTICE OF PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT

IOWA COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT CARES SUPPLEMENTAL

DES MOINES – Iowans have an opportunity to review and comment on Iowa’s Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) CARES Supplemental State Plan.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) were signed into law on March 27, 2020. The CARES Act provides $1 billion in additional funds to the federal CSBG program. The funds are to be used by States and community action agencies to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

The Iowa Department of Human Rights, Division of Community Action Agencies (DCAA) administers Iowa’s CSBG Program and is authorized by Iowa law to contract and distribute Iowa’s CSBG CARES supplemental funds to Iowa’s community action agencies.

Iowa’s CSBG CARES Supplemental State Plan

Iowa’s CSBG CARES Supplemental State Plan will be available, as well, on the DCAA’s website (https://humanrights.iowa.gov/dcaa/csbg/csbg-resources) and the Iowa Community Action Association and Iowa community action agencies’ websites through August 19, 2020. The review and comment period is from August 7, 2020, through August 19, 2020. All comments must be e-mailed to the following DCAA address prior to August 20, 2020, to be considered:
