Thanks to our partnerships with businesses, individuals, and organizations, Sieda Community Action was able to provide school supplies to more than 500 students. Sieda’s School Supply Program distributes in Jefferson, Wapello, and to any families in need in our other counties to help low-income families with the concerns of preparing their children for school. This program provides supplies and backpacks for students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade at no cost to the caretakers. To qualify for school supplies, clients must have been income-eligible. School supplies were distributed at our Sieda offices in Ottumwa, Centerville, and Fairfield.

For the event in your county that might be a helpful source of school supplies please look at the table below. There are many wonderful and generous groups in the counties we serve that are doing what they can to help the families in our communities. Sieda will be at most of these events with a variety of our programs to give resources and/or supplies. 

Jefferson and Wapello County distributions are by the Sieda Resource Centers in those counties.

We now have school supplies available for Keokuk and Davis County at the 725 W. 2nd St. Ottumwa Sieda Resource Center.  Please call 641-682-8741 for details. This is for any that have gotten services with Sieda in the last 12 months, and are income qualified.  This is includes a bag and some of the supplies your student needs for school K-12th, or a PreK backpack.   Supplies available till school starts or supplies run out.
