Sieda is working hard to secure the opportunity for low-income families to receive in some way gifts for Christmas. We have programs in December for the pre-qualified low-income senior households in several counties. As well as, Children’s gifts for 0-18 year-olds living in low-income homes in multiple counties. Plus, our centers provide Heating Assistance (LIHEAP) for those that qualify.
Sieda and other groups are trying to meet that need. Listed is county information on the programs we have at one of our centers or at a partnering group.
This year all Christmas gift programs cut off dates are the last day to apply for gifts.
Be sure you apply by the deadlines or you will not be able to get gifts.
Appanoose County
Silver Bells Program provides seniors food bags. Applications were mailed to our 60-year-olds and older that are income qualified. You will receive a letter in the mail after November 21, if you signed-up. The Distribution will be Friday, December 8th, at the Sieda Appanoose County Resource Center. Please get applications in as soon as possible, we will be ordering food soon. For questions about donating food or senior gifts or with help with the application, please contact the Sieda Appanoose Center at 641-856-8437.
For Operation Santa Program, you can pick up and drop off applications at the Sieda Appanoose Center at 111 North Main Street, Centerville. Applications need to be returned by November 14th to the Sieda Appanoose Center or mailed before. Clients who apply have to be income verified. This can be done through Heating Assistance (LIHEAP) or can be done through other options at Sieda at 641-856-8437. For questions about Operation Santa, please call 641-437-3450.
Davis County ICARE Program
The Davis County community comes together to provide gifts and food boxes to those that apply to ICARE. You can get an application at the Davis County Sieda Center at 203 South Madison Street, Bloomfield. You can call or text 641-640-9773. The applications have more details.
Applications need to be returned by Friday, November 17th, to receive gifts. This program provides nearly 300 individuals food or gifts for Christmas because of the donors and those that adopted from the Angel Tree at Brothers Market. Please call to see how to help.
The distribution will be a drive-thru on Friday, December 15th, at the Fairgrounds in Bloomfield from 8:00 till 2 pm.
Jefferson County Sieda Kid’s Christmas Program
Your amazing donations help provide toys, clothing, and other items. There will adoption mittens hanging on trees in a variety of places across Fairfield.
Applications for households with children 0 – 18 years old are available at the Sieda Neighborhood Resource Center at 2200 West Jefferson Avenue, Fairfield. If you have questions or want to help please call or text 641-207-3454. The deadline for applications is Friday, December 1. You must return your application to pick up the slip with the time, date, and location of the distribution. Turn them in as soon as possible to be adopted.
The distribution will be Thursday, December 21st at the Golden Magnolia Sanctuary, 200 S. Main St. Fairfield.

Mahaska County Resource Center Kid’s Christmas
With your help, again this year, we hope to continue to help the children of low-income homes. If you are interested in donating or adopting, call or text 641-673-8609.
Sieda Mahaska County Resource Center at 114 North Market, Oskaloosa, has applications available inside. You must return your applications by December 4th. Applications are for children 0 – 18 years old. Please get them in as soon as possible to be income verified and adopted. Please call or text 641-673-8609 if you have questions or need help.
The Distribution will be Friday, December 15th, 9:00- 3:30pm, at the Central United Methodist Church. If Adopted by the Police Department they will give you a letter with where and when to pick up gifts.

Van Buren County Christmas for Kids
Applications were due early October. You can call our Sieda Neighborhood Resource Center at 641-640-9773 for more information. If you applied you will be called with a date, time, and place to pick up gifts.
Wapello County Kid’s Christmas & Silver Bells Programs
Wapello County Resource Center holds two Holiday Programs with the help of the community. Silver Bells for the seniors, pick- up is on December 6th. Applications were mailed to those that qualified and should have been returned as soon as possible. You will receive a letter in the mail after November 21, if you signed-up.
For the Wapello County Kid’s Christmas Program, individuals, groups, businesses, and the Ottumwa Fire Department’s Sparky Claus adopted children. If you are interested in donating or adopting, please call or text (641) 682-8741. Gifts can be dropped at the Sieda Resource Center at 725 West Second Street, Ottumwa. This year we want to get everyone adopted so we won’t have a shopping day, like the years before.
Applications are available inside the Wapello Resource Center for children ages 0 to 18. Applications need to be returned by November 30th. Please get applications turned in as soon as possible to be adopted. Please call or text if you have questions or need help (641) 682-8741.
Again, this year we are trying to get every child adopted so there won’t be a shopping day. The day to pick up gifts will be Thursday, December 14th.
