With help from the community and local organizations, Sieda’s 2023 Children’s Christmas Programs provided gifts to 1,096 area children. These programs serve children in Jefferson, Mahaska, and Wapello counties.

Children were adopted by local companies and organizations including Pella Corporation, Grace Church, Ajinomoto, Musco, The Ottumwa Fire Department (Sparky Tree), Cargill Eddyville, AT&T, Cambridge, Jet Stop, Fairfield Arts and Convention Center, Amrita, Everybody’s Whole Foods, 1st Christian Church, Aeron, Williams Automotive, Jefferson County Health Center, Wolfe Clinic, 1st Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Faith United Methodist Church, Nelson Company, 1st United Methodist Church, Oskaloosa Police Department, Clow, Homestead of Oskaloosa, Kinetic Edge, Interpower, and other individual adopters.

In Jefferson county the overflow of children were purchased gifts through the use of Jonas Magram funds. In Wapello County, Josh Chance and his fire station crew, along with other volunteers and Sieda staff, held a gift wrapping party. Gifts were grouped together per each child’s liking and then wrapped for each family. Josh also brought in tables of donated toys from the community to be wrapped for families.

Thank you to everyone that makes these Christmas programs a huge success. We appreciate everyone in our communities who donated and adopted. Our special programs, such as the Christmas programs, do not have specific funding. We could not reach as many without the community. Your efforts helped make a happy holiday for so many area children and families!
