Lisa McConnell, Tobacco Prevention Specialist recently collaborated with an Appanoose County business owner regarding new Tobacco-Free/Nicotine Policy adoption.
She also shared resources to educate the business owner on the negative health effects of 2nd & 3rd hand-smoke along with information on electronic smoking devices.
The business owner completed the documentation and all requirements were met for this new Tobacco-Free/Nicotine Policy to receive free signage from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. This new Tobacco-Free/Nicotine Policy went into effect on August 22nd, 2023.
Signage was ordered and then delivered on October 9th, 2023.
